DGMT LETTER 12 2022: FULFILMENT OF SEAWORTHINESS REQUIREMENTS TO BE REQUIRED FOR CONTAINERS-SHIPPING BARGE

 

In order to uphold the White List status of the Memorandum of Understanding on Port State Control in the Asia-Pacific Region (“Tokyo MoU”), Directorate General of Marine Transportation of the Republic of Indonesia (“DGMT”) has issued Director General of Marine Transportation Letter No. AL.012/3/11/DJPL/2022 of 2022 concerning Submission of Seaworthiness Requirements Fulfillment Obligation for Barges Serving Container Shipping (“DGMT Letter 12/2022”). Through this letter, barges which carry containers are obliged to fulfill seaworthiness requirements by proving it with a Class Notation (notasi kelas kapal) or a letter confirming that such barges have met seaworthiness requirements.

Surat DJPL 12/2022: Kewajiban Pemenuhan Persyaratan Kelaiklautan bagi Kapal Tongkang yang Melayani Pengangkutan Kontainer Dalam rangka mempertahankan status White List dari Memorandum of Understanding on Port State Control in the Asia-Pacific Region (“Tokyo MoU”), Direktorat Jenderal Perhubungan Laut Republik Indonesia (“DJPL”) telah menerbitkan Surat Edaran Direktur Jenderal Perhubungan Laut No. AL.012/3/11/DJPL/2022 Tahun 2022 tentang Penyampaian Kewajiban Pemenuhan Persyaratan Laik Laut bagi Kapal Tongkang (Barge) yang Melayani Pengangkutan Kontainer (“Surat DJPL 12/2022”). Melalui surat ini, kapal tongkang yang mengangkut kontainer wajib memenuhi persyaratan kelaiklautan dengan membuktikannya dengan Notasi Kelas Kapal atau surat yang menyatakan bahwa kapal tongkang tersebut telah memenuhi persyaratan kelaiklautan.
