The Minister of Trade issued a Minister of Trade Regulation (“MOT”) No 71 of 2019 regarding Franchise on 3 September 2019 (“MOT Reg. 71/2019”) which revokes all previous franchise regulations and presents a compiled and simplified provisions on franchise business in Indonesia. This regulation brings a positive impact for business actors that intend to do franchise business in Indonesia.

The MOT Reg. 71/2019 also adjusts the licensing procedure with respect to the role of OSS in the licensing sphere in Indonesia.
